The front cover of the current annual catalogue features the Expressions in Ink suite in gorgeous bright colours. Here I’ve put my twist on it and cooled things down with beautiful blue/green tones which work perfectly with the gold foiling.
The suite consists of the stamp and die bundle, the most amazing dsp that I think Stampin’ Up! has ever produced and the Ephemera pack containing gold foiled elements and sequins.
My card is 6 inches square and I started by choosing and die cutting the elements I wanted to use. I've cut a strip of the gold striped dsp, a die cut decorative edge in Pool Party cardstock (this die is from the Penned Flowers dies) the large detailed floral die and some hexagonal gold pieces. I have stamped the sentiment in Bermuda Bay and simply trimmed it to size.
I decided to put the striped panel on the right hand side so stamped a little to the left of central. I've used a selection of the Artistically Inked stamps using Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay ink. These stamps are wonderful to use, they have so much texture. If you like a watercolour effect then this is a very easy way to achieve it.
The card was then assembled by first sticking the striped panel with the decorative edge on the right hand side. Next I added the largest hexagon, the tiniest amount of glue is needed and I made sure I added the glue where the sentiment strip would cover it. The white floral die cut was added next, again with the smallest amount of glue. Lastly I added the small hexagon.
I've added the sentiment using mini dimensionals and positioned them so they hold the small hexagon in place.
As well as the gold foiled elements, the Ephemera pack contains self adhesive sequins and I just had to add a few!
This is one my favourite cards, I love that it is floral without being overly flowery, I think the colour palette definitely helps.
Below you will find product links for everything I used to make it.
