Autumn Wreath

I’ve had a few Christmas card ideas for a new bundle called Sparkle of the Season but didn’t want to overlook the Autumn elements, especially the little pumpkins.

There is very little stamping on this card, just the sentiment and a few of the leaves and stems added to the wreath. There is however lots of texture with the die cuts, the use of a lovely embossing folder and some very sparkly paper.

I started by cutting a strip of Beauty of the Earth dsp and a square piece of Early Espresso cardstock. I’ve embossed both using Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder, it isn't quite big enough to do the complete square but it didn't matter as the dsp will hide the missed bit.

Next I stamped and die cut the elements needed to make the wreath. I've used lovely rich Autumn colours with some earthy greens. I love the pumpkins, they fit in with a harvest festival theme just as well as Halloween.

I had all the pieces I needed for the card, or so I thought. There was something missing and the little strip of Be Dazzling paper and a third pumpkin cut from the same made all the difference.

The sentiment is from Dragonfly Garden and has been cut using a Tasteful Label die. I think the sentiment fits the card style well but of course could just as easily have been Happy Birthday, Thank You etc.

Lastly I added some Brushed Metallic Dots, they come in three colours - bronze, copper and gold, I've used both bronze and gold.

We might still be in the middle of August but it definitely feels more like Autumn than Summer, the blackberries are starting to ripen so it won't be long.

Product links below for everything used and next week I may well share a couple of Christmas cards with you.

Back soon,

Katie x
