This week's Global Design Project theme challenge is Birthday #gdp395. I've created a bright and colourful card that would be lovely for a child's birthday.
I created the background by die cutting the clouds border using a scrap piece of card and then using it as a mask. I started at the bottom working up and added Boho Blue with a blending brush. It's quite a simple technique once you get the hang of it and so effective. My tip would be build up the colour very gradually and never put your brush directly onto the layer you are creating, rather start on the mask and swipe towards the layer.
I love the colourful kites and used mostly cardstock from the brights family, these little dies are a great way of using up scraps.
The sentiment has been stamped onto a strip of white and tucked behind the bottom kite. I added a layer of Boho Blue but I'm not sure if it was needed. I really like the simplicity of this card, I hope you do too.
