Butterflies and Flowers

Today’s card is my entry into the Global Design Project Colour Challenge #GDP325.

I love these colours together, they are really fresh and pretty. I decided to use all three to create my background and have used one of the Butterflies & Flowers Layering Decorative Masks for the pattern.

Out came the blending brushes again this time to add ink onto vellum through the mask once held in place with some masking tape. I have also coloured a piece of vellum with Pool Party to cut the bottom layer of the butterfly.

I have used Stitched Rectangles to create a border for the vellum, making it easier to stick the piece to the card base. My detailed butterfly has been die cut from foiled gold card and I have used Open Weave ribbon in Polished Pink and Pale Papaya as well as some gold Simply Elegant Trim.

Before adding to the card using a mini glue dot, I ran my ribbon through my Cut & Emboss machine, it helps to flatten the knot!

Even flattened a bit, the knot is still quite proud of the card base so a couple of dimensionals were used to stick the butterfly on.

My sentiment is from Blossoms in Bloom and has been cut using the Messages die. Lastly I have added a couple of Genial Gems which have little flecks of gold in them, perfect to add to the body of the butterfly.
