It’s blog hop time again and this month we have a sketch challenge. I decided to go for something fun and Party Puffins fitted the bill perfectly.
So here is the sketch.
I had a few different ideas about how to create the blocks down the left hand side, I considered masking and adding colour with a brayer or blending brushes, I thought about going for an ombre effect but in the end, I settled for dsp.
To be honest it was probably the easy option but sometimes we all need to go for the easy option, right!
The dsp I chose is the really pretty Hand Penned and I've used what would be considered the 'B' side.
I cut the rectangles out of four different sheets, the featured colours are Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, Pale Papaya and Highland Heather. I've used the same colours to stamp the sentiment and colour the puffin.
I used a ruler to line up the dsp pieces just to make sure I had a straight line and they were spaced evenly. All that was left to do was to add the fussy cut puffin and sentiment and some in color jewels. Do you like the shiny beak? I added some Shimmery Crystal Effects.
It's a really simple but fun card, I hope you like it. Do have a look at all the other blog posts and see what the rest of the design team have come up with. As always product links are at the bottom, thanks for looking,
