Casually crafting design team - blog hop - tic-tac-toe challenge

Here is my entry for the June blog hop, I love Flowers of Friendship and the colour combination of Fresh Freesia, Pool Party and Very Vanilla is so pretty.

The challenge has been a fun one, the hardest part was choosing which 'line' to use. I was tempted by Use a punch-Floral-Granny Apple Green but in the end went for Use a punch-Very Vanilla Card-Linen Twine.

Why not have a go yourself? Pick a line and see what you come up with. You will find lots of inspiration from the the other design team members, you can check out their creations by clicking on the blog links below.

Back to my card, here is how it came together.

I started by stamping and punching a selection of flowers and leaves and then coloured them using light and dark blends in Pool Party and Fresh Freesia.

Next I cut some rectangles, the largest is Pool Party cardstock, the next is Fresh Freesia dsp and the smallest is Very Vanilla cardstock. They are sized to fit on a 6 inch square card base.

As you can see I have stamped the flower stems on the Very Vanilla layer. I masked off the flower part using tape before I inked up the stamp.

Here are the layers assembled, I made sure there was enough of the Fresh Freesia dsp showing to see the pattern.

The rectangle was then stuck to the right hand side of the card base and the flowers and leaves were added. I've used some additional leaves and doubled up a few of them, each flower is made up of a large and small layer and I've added a Soft Succulent In Colour Jewel to the flowers.

I deliberately chose a small sentiment, this one came from Sweet as a Peach. I've used an off cut of Stampin' dimensionals to stick it to the card. I can't throw anything away!

The final detail is the addition of a Linen Twine bow, I created a double bow by using two pieces of twine and stuck it to the card using a mini glue dot.

I really enjoyed creating this card, the stamped images are so easy to colour. It's a great set for a new crafter. Don't forget to check out the other blogs in the hop.
