Casually Crafting Design Team Christmas Greenery

The blog hop theme this month is a tic tac toe challenge. I struggled to choose between a couple of lines but in the end went for Christmas - Foliage - Green.

I have used a couple of new stamp sets, Tidings and Trimmings and Sparkle of the Season, selecting foliage from each.

If you haven’t tried a tic tac toe challenge before, it’s a great way to be inspired or challenged to create a card. Pick a line, vertical, horizontal or diagonal and see what you come up with. You will find lots of inspiration by hopping around the other blog posts, the links are towards the end of this post.

I have created two cards, I chose the sentiments that I wanted to use and then decided to make one landscape and one portrait.

For both the card base is A6 size (UK) and the layer sizes (in cm)are as follows -

Cherry Cobbler cardstock 14.5 x 10

Tidings of Christmas DSP 14 x 9.5

Evening Evergreen cardstock 12.5 x 8

Basic White 12.2 x 7.7

I love Evening Evergreen, it is a perfect Christmas green, I've also used Shaded Spruce and Soft Succulent as well as Cherry Cobbler to add a splash of red.

The sentiments are from Tidings and Trimmings and were stamped first in Evening Evergreen, I positioned the sentiments allowing a space to add the ribbon and bow.

The foliage was randomly stamped in each of the corners keeping to one colour per stamp. I particularly like the pine fronds from Sparkle of the Season.

Once stamped the white layer was mounted onto the Evening Evergreen cardstock and then a length of Evening Evergreen ribbon added and stuck to the back. This was then added to the Cherry Cobbler and dsp layers before finally mounting onto the card base.

A bow has been added using mini glue dots and three gems from Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials and Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Below the blog hop links you will find details of all the products used.

Thanks for looking,
