This card was intended for a colour challenge but I used Balmy Blue instead of Tahitian Tide, never mind, I'm really happy with how it turned out so will share it with you anyway.
The bundle used is Charming Sentiments, I’ve already used several of the sentiments but this was a first time using one of the cute little elements, a birthday candle.
I die cut a load of little candles in Flirty Flamingo, Balmy Blue and Pool Party, with each one having a white layer behind.
My card base has been masked and coloured using the same three colours, applied with blending brushes. This is a technique I use often, it’s a great way to add colour to a background without detracting from the main design element(s). You don't need to go too heavy on the colour, it's not until the mask is removed that you see how much the colour shows.
I’ve also added some ‘splatter’ dots using a stamp from Color & Contour.
I placed my first few candles near the middle and then worked outwards, I like the ad hoc placement and colours.
My sentiment has been heat embossed in white on black and die cut then added using mini dimensionals. Lastly I’ve added a few Fine Sparkle Gems, the colours match very nicely.
