Nature’s Prints

Updated: May 3, 2022

Today’s card is for a Case the Designer, Global Design Project challenge #GDP340 and the designer is the very talented Ann Alexander.

I do love a square card so decided to adapt the layout to fit my favourite size, 6 inches square. I have used a new stampset and die bundle called Nature's Prints with a gorgeous new embossing folder - Fern 3D and the beautiful new dsp Sun Prints.

This card is all about texture, as well as Fern 3D embossing folder, I have also used Splatter from Splatter & Stripes. The stampset has a splatter stamp that ties in really nicely and I've used it on the sentiment label. I have heat embossed in white onto Night of Navy cardstock, the detail in the fern stamp especially is stunning.

The larger leaf has been stamped in Pool Party and then coloured using light and dark Pool Party Stampin' Blends.

It seemed a shame to cover up so much of the dsp but I do like how the pattern only really shows on the left hand side, drawing your eye to the die cut elements. I've looped a little Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon around the white layer sticking it only on the back so that I could add a bow later.

The die cut elements have been stuck down with all the joins carefully hidden behind the sentiment which has been added using dimensionals. Although the lighter colour is Pool Party, the Tahitian Tide Matte Decorative Dots are a good match so I couldn't help but add a few.

If you like the look of this dsp which is all dark blues with some grey reverse sides then you may well like Pretty Prints which is on my wish list. It has some of the same designs but in four different colours, predominantly Blackberry Bliss, Evening Evergreen, Coastal Cabana and Petal Pink.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used here, you will find product links below. Please use this months host code and if your order is over £30 you will get a hand made thank you card and small gift from me.

Katie x
