Save the date

Updated: Apr 28, 2021

This is my first play with something from the new annual Stampin' Up! catalogue. I am totally in love with the 2021/23 in colours, they work so well together.

I have used two new stamp sets, Hand-Penned Petals and Days To Remember. Hand-penned petals has some very pretty images that are lovely to add colour to. The set includes 'distINKtive' stamps that add different amounts of colour and really lovely texture to the stamped image.

The flower and leaf centres are not an exact match for the space they fill which gives a hand coloured effect and also makes it perfect for those who find it tricky lining stamps up perfectly.

Days to remember is such a clever set and I can see I will be using it lots!

It took a while for me to figure it out but in a nutshell the numbers you see make it possible to stamp a month with the 1st starting on any day of the week.

There is enough space between the numbers/letters to make it possible to ink it up without needing to mask the bit you don't use. I would recommend using the Stamparatus or a large acrylic block. I have found the easiest way to get everything straight is to put the stamps on grid paper in the correct position and then lower the acrylic block or hinged plate onto them.

There are several really sweet little images and shapes to add to your calendar, I've circled the date using one of these little stamps and stamped it in Polished Pink. I've also used what I think are the balloon strings either side of the month.

The stamped piece has been layered onto Soft Succulent cardstock and then Hand-Penned dsp. Wouldn't it be lovely to give someone a birthday card showing their own special date, or how about a card with the date of a wedding, engagement, birth......the possibilities are endless.

Every one of the new in colours has been used to colour the flowers and leaves, stamped off for a paler look.

All the items used here will be released 4th May and I will then update product links to my online shop. A link to view/download the catalogue will also be available on the 4th. If you live in the UK and would like a catalogue then I'd be happy to send you one, head over to my Contact page and pop me a message.

I'd love to know what you think of my card or which of the new colours is your favourite, I'm not sure I can pick one so I'm going to say Soft Succulent and Fresh Freesia.

Thanks for reading,

Katie x
