Scene building with Oceanfront

Updated: Jan 4, 2022

What a beautifully serene stamp set Oceanfront is and it works perfectly paired with On the Horizon to create a landscape scene.

I wanted to create a scene with the three trees as the focal point so that was where I started, stamping in Evening Evergreen. It made sense to stamp the trees first in any case, as the Oceanfront stamps are photopolymer so easier to line up.

When stamping the sky and fields I would highly recommend applying your ink using Blending Brushes, too much ink really does spoil the effect and stamping off doesn't always give an even impression.

The sky is a combination of Balmy Blue, Pacific Point and Highland Heather, the field is Granny Apple Green and Pear Pizzazz and the lower bank is Garden Green.

With the background stamped I added the grass in Evening Evergreen and the birds in Night of Navy.

The sentiment has been stamped in Basic Gray and I have used cardstock of the same colour for all the base layers to tie in with the Heart and Home dsp.

I have die cut the main image and the sentiment using Stitched Rectangles, all the other layers have been trimmed to size.

The only embellishments I have added are a little 'pile' of Faux Sea Glass Shapes. Oh my goodness I love these and could quite happily sit and create a mosaic with the whole sheet!

I think this works well as a Thinking of You card but would also make a nice Birthday card for a man. I hope you like it.
