Sea Life Wreath

Updated: May 3, 2022

Today I’ve created a card to take part in a Stampin’ Up! Creative Challenge.

The challenge was to create a project incorporating a wreath without including any flowers. Initially I thought I might go down the foliage route but then remembered the lovely set I have used here, Whale Done.

The wreath has been created completely freehand, I started by lightly drawing a pencil circle as a guide and the first element I added was the seaweed in Mint Macaron. Next was the coral which has been stamped in Calypso Coral, Fresh Freesia and a new colour Sweet Sorbet. After that I stamped just the tentacle part of the jelly fish in another new colour, Orchid Oasis. The seahorses are Daffodil Delight and the fish Starry Sky (another new one). Once I had the wreath shape filled, I erased any pencil line still showing and used my very slightly inky blending brushes to add a little pinky/blue to the inside.

The sentiment and turtle are both stamped in Orchid Oasis, with the turtle coloured using Pool Party Stampin' Blends, they have been stuck to the card using mini dimensionals.

The image has been layered onto Fresh Freesia and then Mint Macaron cardstock before being added to a 6x6 white card base. I've finished it off with a few Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels which come in gorgeous marine shades of blue and green.
