Sleds and Skates

I think Sophisticated Sled is my favourite Winter set this year, you won’t find it in a paper catalogue as it is an Online Exclusive bundle. I’ve used the wonderful dies to create my card for this week’s Global Design Project sketch challenge #gdp462.

I started by choosing my colours, I definitely wanted browns for the sled and then chose shades of blue and a nice bright green.

The detail in these dies really is stunning. The sled frame is Early Espresso and the boards Crumb Cake. I have added further colour to the boards using a blending brush, a little Early Espresso and some Copper Clay (Pecan Pie would also work).

The boots are in three pieces, Basic White for the boots, Balmy Blue for the blades and Night of Navy for the laces. I chose Night of Navy to match the Natural Tones Linen Thread which I used to hang them up.

The greenery piece used to decorate the sled is Shy Shamrock, I added a clear Faceted Gem to the middle of it once on the card.

My base layer is Balmy Blue and has been embossed with the pretty Snowflake Sky embossing folder.

I have used a banner die from Greetings of the Season (another Online Exclusive) trimming it to the size I wanted. ‘Let it Snow’ (Sophisticated Sled) has been stamped in Night of Navy.

If you wanted to take a closer look at the Online Exclusive items used here you can do so by clicking on the product link below. The links take you to my online Stampin' Up! store and to show my appreciation for orders placed, if you use the current month's host code, I will send you a thank you card and a small gift.

I will be back soon with more ideas for Christmas using this wonderful bundle.

Thanks for looking,

Katie
