Traditional Christmas

I have to be honest, I prefer non traditional colours in my Christmas cards, icy blues, pretty pinks, even neutral colours but the Painted Christmas dsp has brought me right back to reds, greens and gold for this card.

This is not a 5 minute card by any means but I think it was worth the time and effort. I love the wreath layers die cut using Seasonal Swirls dies and the bold pattern in the dsp ties in really well.

There are a few other die sets, a stamp and embossing folder also used which I will add links to at the end.

The first step was to die cut the wreath elements. The berries for the stems have been cut in two different sizes and three different shades of red (I know, I must be mad!).

The smaller berries and the stems themselves come from the Christmas Trimmings dies. At least the dies cut six berries at a time.

The wreath has been assembled as per the pictures above with the stems added on both of the lower layers.

The rest of the design elements are a square of dsp cut just a little smaller than the 6 inch card base, a square of Evening Evergreen cardstock to sit behind the white embossed panel, a die cut sentiment (die from Meadow dies, sentiment from Tidings & Trimmings) and a gold thread bow.

I've enjoyed making this card, it's made me feel quite festive.......in September! As always, the product links are below and my next post will probably feature the wreath dies again but maybe in blues and silver this time.

Thanks for looking,

Katie x
