Anyone else hanging on to summer? The last few days have been so warm and sunny it’s hard to believe Autumn is just around the corner. Today’s card has a summery feel to it with bright, fresh blue and green tones.
If you follow my blog you may remember a recent post where I added a video showing how to watercolour using ink refills. I have used the same technique here with the butterfly, die cut using a detailed Brilliant Wings die.
The textured background is stamped directly onto an A6 card base. I have used Artistically Inked and an old favourite, Very Versailles. The colours are Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Mint Macaron, Coastal Cabana and Daffodil Delight.
If your ink pads are quite juicy I would recommend a blending brush to take off the excess ink, the texture stamps definitely give a better impression if lightly inked.
The sentiment, from Very Versailles has been stamped in Night of Navy using a die cut from my stash of pre cut labels, created using the messages die. The Stamparatus is the perfect tool for making sure it stamps perfectly.
Only the body of the butterfly is only stuck to the card allowing the wings to rise up. To complete the card I just added some little silver teardrop gems, these ones are Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials.
If you like simply stamped cards with abstract, texture style backgrounds then I can't recommend Artistically Inked highly enough. If you find yourself adding it to your basket, pop in a pack of blending brushes too, you will find them invaluable.
