I rarely use retired product in my cards, I’ve made an exception today as although retired, Splendid Thoughts and Splendid Stems dies are still available, at an absolute steal in the Clearance Rack!
The stampset is priced at £6.00 (instead of £22.00) and the dies are £7.50 (instead of £32.00).
Such a bargain for a really useful set of leaves and flowers with a modern twist.
I have made two cards, the green one uses just the stampset, a coloured cardstock layer and two ink pads. My colours are Lost Lagoon and Pool Party.
The other card is a bit more ‘bells and whistles’ with die cuts, an embossed layer, dsp and some linen thread. I stamped the flowers in Moody Mauve and coloured in Moody Mauve and Bubble Bath using Stampin’ Blends. The foliage was stamped in Lost Lagoon and coloured in Lost Lagoon and Pool Party. I decided not to add a sentiment to this one, sometimes it’s handy to have a blank card to suit any occasion.
