Today's card is for this month's Casually Crafting Design Team tic tac toe challenge. I have chosen the bottom line - Green - Birthday - Foliage.
It was an easy choice for me, I love green and Stampin' Up! have so many great stamps with foliage, I've chosen to use Inked & Tiled.
I wanted to have an interesting background and used my three greens, Soft Sea Foam, Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock with a blending brush to create the effect.
The next step was to stamp some leaves, I started with the lightest Green and built up the pattern always stamping off the edge of the card. The Inked & Tiled stamp has lovely texture allowing some of the bottom layers of stamping to show through.
Next I carried on with the same leaf stamp, this time using Versamark and heat embossing in white. My tip here is to make sure your green stamped leaves are completely dry before moving onto embossing, any hint of moisture and the embossing powder will stick to it.
I tried stamping my Happy Birthday straight onto the image layer but felt it didn't stand out enough so added a Pretty Peacock strip with leaves and the sentiment heat embossed in white.
