Pretty Flowers Sketch Challenge

As much as I’ve enjoyed creating cards in, and seeing, lots of red and blue this Jubilee weekend, I have to say it was nice to get back to a colour palette I’m more comfortable with. I love using grey and adding one or two pretty pastel colours, today’s cards feature Fresh Freesia.

These cards have been created for a sketch challenge, I’ve not changed the layouts very much at all as I loved the simplicity of the sketches.

On the white layers for both cards, I have stamped in Fresh Freesia using the flower block and splatter from Painted Poppies, the larger rectangle also has some Basic Gray splatter, I only inked up the edges of the stamp and stamped off to keep it light.

The sentiments are from Happiness Abounds, Sending thanks is actually 'Sending many thanks for all you do' but I masked off the words that I didn't want. I've used a circle from Beautiful Shapes to die cut, notice it embosses a lovely wavy line around the inside edge.

My card bases are A6, both cards feature an embossed Smoky Slate panel, Pretty Flowers is definitely my new favourite embossing folder.

The card with the circle also has a piece of Abigail Rose dsp and the join is hidden using both Fresh Freesia and Gray Granite ribbon.

The circle has been stuck on using dimensionals and the little butterfly, die cut using Brilliant Wings, has a pretty white Elegant Faceted Gem added for sparkle.

The rectangle on my second card has also been added using dimensionals and then a small piece of Fresh Freesia ribbon sits behind the sentiment. I've used Elegant Faceted Gems again, this time a couple of clear ones.

These colours look so pretty together, I think either card would be lovely for a wedding, Happiness Abounds has a congratulations sentiment too which would be perfect.
