Oh my goodness, I love this dsp! In fact I love it so much, I’ve done little more than stare at it since it arrived a few days ago. Today though, I took the plunge and chose my favourite sheet and created four cards!
I’m not sure I’ve ever made a ‘DL‘ sized card before but the dsp definitely lent itself to the upright shape.
I created this first card and then decided to make three more using up most of the rest of the dsp sheet and the same cardstock colours, stamp sets and embellishments. I have also added some die cut elements on two of the cards.
Let’s start with the stamping, all images and sentiments come from either Oceanfront or On the Horizon and only Night of Navy ink has been used. The dsp really does do all the hard work, it’s stunning.
The cardstock colours are Sahara Sand, Pool Party and Pacific Point and the sizes are as follows.
Card base (standard DL size) 21cm square folded in half.
Sorry now we move to inches, I just find it easier to measure and cut,
Base layer 7 7/8 x 3 3/4
Layer under dsp 7 3/8 x 3 1/8
Dsp 7 x 3 (1/2 x 3 + 6 x 3 + 1/2 x 3)
After stamping the larger middle piece, the dsp has been stuck down as shown in the picture above. This layer is raised up off the card by using dimensionals to stick it in place.
Each of the cards with die cut elements have one or two fence/gate pieces cut from Sahara Sand and some grass cut from Pool Party and/or Pacific Point. The sentiments are stamped on either Pool Party or Sahara Sand and then trimmed or partially trimmed and fussy cut.
Linen thread is used on each of the cards in slightly different ways to add some texture.
I've also added some Rhinestone Waves Basic Gems to each of the cards, they come in three sizes, in six beautiful blue/green shades.
I am so pleased with how these turned out, the colours are so 'beachy'. Working on them has definitely made me think about sunny summer days on the coast.
The dsp and rhinestones are not catalogue products, rather 'while stocks last' items as part of the Waves of the Ocean pre release, so if you like them don't wait too long.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used here, you will find product links below. Please use this months host code QN2DKQHX and if your order is over £30 you will get a hand made thank you card and small gift from me.
Thanks for looking,
