Well here’s a stamp set I haven’t used in a while, Oceanfront. I was struggling to get a good stamped image and kind of gave up but I had an idea for this month’s Casually Crafting Design Team colour challenge and needed to use it and I’m so glad I did.
The colour combination is Pacific Point, Soft Suede and So Saffron, three gorgeous colours in their own right that work so well together.
My card base is 6" square, I have used So Saffron and Pacific Point cardstock layers and my little punched tag is Soft Suede, all the colours have been used in my stamped image.
So Saffron ink on So Saffron card provided a lovely bit of interest to the background layer.
The trouble I was having with the stamps was that little specks of dust would show up even after I had cleaned them thoroughly. I have found that after cleaning the stamp with my shammy, using some masking tape to lift off any unseen residue/dust means the stamped image is blemish free, finally!
I like to apply my colour with a blending brush as it allows for a lovely even and not to inky final image. I used blending brushes on all textured elements and only inked up the grasses straight from the pad.
I first stamped the sky, sea and beach, then stamped the rocks. Some of the grass is in front of the rocks but I created masks to stamp behind and in between the rocks.
I very simply stapled the image layer to the blue layer, slightly off centre. Some linen thread was wound around the So Saffron square before it was stuck to the card base and then the tag (whole punched separately) was added. My tag has the sentiment heat embossed in white.
The sentiment is from Peaceful Moments and works well with such an idyllic scene created with Oceanfront.
I wonder what the other design team members have created for this challenge, you can check them out by clicking on the links below.
If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used here, you will find product links below. Please use this months host code and if your order is over £30 you will get a hand made thank you card and small gift from me.
