Creating with alcohol!

I have seen so many examples of this technique recently, I just had to give it a try.

In addition to my Stampin' Up! supplies which you will find listed at the bottom of the post, I have used 6x4 glossy photo paper and 99% Isopropyl Alcohol.

This is a really fun technique, not too messy and although it requires a little patience, you do get pretty much instant results.

I started by choosing my colours, I wanted to go bold and bright so I used Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Bermuda Bay and Misty Moonlight. Each colour was added separately by simply scribbling on the photo paper. After applying the colour I followed it with drops of alcohol and then a quick blast of my heat gun before adding the next colour.

Once I had a background I was happy with, I trimmed and mounted it onto Night of Navy cardstock.

The sentiment (from Sending Hugs) has been stamped in Night of Navy and mounted onto Night of Navy cardstock, the butterfly has been die cut from the same.

Lastly I added some sparkle in the form of Blue Adhesive Backed Gems and Silver Simply Elegant Trim.

I really enjoyed creating the background for this card and love the fact that no two would ever be the same. I think in these colours, it would be lovely as a background for snowflakes or stars on a Christmas card.

Below are the products used, thanks for looking,
