One of my favourite stamp sets from the new catalogue is Nature’s Prints and I’ve used it today to create a card for this week’s Global Design Project Challenge #gdp344 we are casing the designer Charlet Mallett.
My card uses the same Scalloped rectangle, I cut it from the new Tahitian Tide cardstock and then used a blender brush to darken the outside edges with Starry Sky ink.
I've used the large leaf and the fern and stamped a few times off the edge, again in Starry Sky. Once stamped I tried something new for me and was delighted with the result. I used a water painter and a little Craft White ink to add highlights to the leaves. I started with the ink watered down but not too wet and then added more ink with less water for a stronger white finish.
I'm so pleased with how it turned out and didn't want to cover up too much of the image so chose a small sentiment (Happiness Abounds) heat embossed in white and then simply mounted the scalloped layer onto a white card base.
