Oceanfront Window

This week we have a Global Design Project sketch challenge, here is my entry to #GDP326

For my card I have used Oceanfront from the new Jan-Jun catalogue and Welcoming Window bundle from the Annual catalogue. I am using a bit of creative licence here and imagining the ocean view is reflected in the window panes as technically it's outside looking in!

My card base is Crumb Cake and I have a separate layer of the same with the window aperture cut out. I love all the little Welcoming Window die cut elements, the window frame, sill and shutters have a lovely woodgrain texture and the shutter hinges are so sweet.

If you have visited my blog recently you may well have seen me use Oceanfront before, I use blending brushes to apply ink to the stamps which gives a lovely even, not too inky impression.

The Welcoming window brick and flower pot stamps are 'distinktive' so have a similar feel to Oceanfront, I added bricks around the window area stamping in Sahara Sand.

When it came to assembling the card I added the window frame to the stamped layer first, using the rule of thirds to position the horizon. Next I stuck the brick stamped piece lining up the window in the pre cut whole. Lastly I added the shelf, shutters and hinges.

The jug of flowers sits nicely on the window sill and having wrapped some linen thread across the centre, I added a little bow to the jug. I didn't want to cover up too much of the pretty window scene so chose a small sentiment from Sweet as a Peach.

If you are interested in purchasing any of the items used here, you will find product links below. Please use this months host code 4SYSXA7C and if your order is over £30 you will get a hand made thank you card and small gift from me.

Thanks for looking,
