I had a lot of fun creating my card for this week’s Global Design Project 'case the designer' challenge #gdp364.
I love all the colours that Madeleine has used and the slimline format of the card. These are the colours I've chosen, I think they are a pretty close match.
My first task was to create the leaves. I use Chic dies to cut the leaves from white cardstock and then added colour using the little circle in Watercolor Shapes. Applying colour using this stamp gives a lovely variety of texture and light and dark shades.
Next I added some abstract colour to my background using stamps from Nature's prints and Color & Contour.
The leaves didn't stand out as much as I wanted them to against the coloured background so I toned it down by adding a vellum layer. First I stuck the leaves to the vellum, then I turned it over and added little dots of glue behind the leaves so that no glue would show through.
My sentiment (Happiness Abounds) has been heat embossed in white on black and fussy cut. I've finished the card off with a few Fine Sparkle Gems, three of the gem colours match perfectly.
