The magic of Christmas

So I’ve made my first Christmas cards in July! Too early? Probably but I received my Stampin’ Up! pre-order yesterday and I just couldn’t resist having a play.

The Whimsical Trees set caught my eye immediately, I love tree stamps and these are a bit different, quite contemporary, especially in non traditional colours.

I purchased the Whimsical Trees bundle and have used lots of the dies on these cards. I have also used another new Christmas set Classic Cloche but only for the sentiments. Lastly you will find each of the cards has a stamp from Artistically Inked used on it.

The first card is in Mint Macaron and Soft Succulent, don't they go well together? The dsp is Whimsy & Wonder and has iridescent elements making it really sparkle, I've used the Artistically Inked stamp to add colour around the edge. The sentiment has been stamped on vellum so as not to hide the beautiful dsp underneath.

The second card, my favourite I think, is in Polished Pink for the background stamping and Fresh Freesia for the sentiment. I love the little trees, simply die cut in white with a tiny Fresh Freesia star at the top of each.

For my third card I used the Artistically Inked stamp to add colour to the die cut tree, the colours are Balmy Blue, Fresh Freesia and Polished Pink and the 'tinsel' has been die cut in white. The dsp used here is the reverse side of the design featured on the first card.

On the last card I have gone for baubles instead of trees. The background is Balmy Blue and the sentiment has been stamped in Misty Moonlight. The baubles have been coloured using Stampin' blends and the beautifully sparkly bow is silver Simply Elegant Trim.

I have no product links to share with you as most of the sets used aren't available until 3rd August. I will definitely be showing you more Christmas cards soon, what do you think of the paper my cards have been photographed on? It is another new dsp design and the whole pack is stunning.....but that's for another post.

Back soon,

Katie x
